Just Like Family Home Care, a family-owned home care company servicing seven Southwest Florida counties, collected more than 80 boxes of items for St. Matthews House and Goodlette Arms during the company’s 2nd Annual Senior Collection Drive. Just Like Family Home Care organized the Senior Collection Drive throughout the month of May in recognition of Senior Citizens Month.
“First and foremost, our goal with this collection drive is to raise awareness about seniors in need in Southwest Florida and once again this community exceeded all of my expectations,” says Elisabeth Nassberg, co-owner of Just Like Family Home Care. “People recognized the need we have and I’m so thankful the drive was such a success. We are able to give the St. Matthews House and Goodlette Arms everything they need to get them through a typically very slow time of year.”
Drop off locations were set up at more than 20 businesses throughout Lee and Collier County. New items collected included socks, shampoo, pajamas, games, glasses, sweaters, blankets, stamps, wheelchairs, walkers, medical supplies and personal hygiene items.
The drive was successful due to partnerships with businesses that served as drop off locations: AAA, Abracadabra, Avant Garde, Fitness for Life, Hanger, Exquisite, Saladworks, Arbor Glen, Barrington Terrace, The Carlisle, Lely Palms Retirement Community, Nurse On Call, Terracina Grand, Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, Barrington Terrace, Citrus Gardens, Life Care of Estero, Senior Home Care, Shell Point, and The Terraces at Bonita Springs.
